After another week of cancelled treatment (2 months waiting) I have spent the weekend in hospital due to passing large blood clots. Being poked and examined, talked down to and left on a bed with no assistance i am feeling really low.
I don’t want this to be my life and I’m not feeling strong enough to get through this.
Sorry to hear about your cancelled treatment, being in hospital and how you’re feeling. Just want to send you a hug and to let you know that you’re not alone - there’s support for you in this group.
We’re similar in age and I also work in education (when I’m working - I’m currently recovering from surgery so not working). If you’d like someone to chat to, I’m happy to chat on private message too.

Nightthinking,
Sorry you are low and experiencing such poor care when you are so vulnerable. I checked back to your original posts and I see that your consultant was most unkind with her words as well.Just awful for you, please don't be frightened to ask for help. Noone has the right to talk down to you. The staff should be there to help you. I know when I was in hospital I had some very bad days and I struggled. I wish you comfort and strength and hope you home soon.

I’m really sad to read your post and how you feel you have been treated in hospital. I know you had an infection and were waiting for that to clear up before treatment started, but the wait must feel endless for you.
When you are feeling so low, it can be hard to imagine getting through any of this and being treated without any empathy or care for your situation makes things even tougher. I waited 6 weeks for my treatment to start, but you’ve had the added issue of a change in treatment plan based on your scan results, so while we have to wait there are things going on behind the scenes while your team assess everything and your treatment plan is formulated and prepared. How are you getting on as far as the infection goes? Have you been given any indication of when the treatment might start? You need the infection to have cleared to be in the best possible place to go through the treatment as it will be challenging it itself.
However, you are the most important person in all of this, and you should be treated with care and dignity in hospital-I’ve had both excellent and caring treatment during my many hospital stays, but also received very poor care at times which can really feel devastating when you are weak and low. Are you still in hospital now? Are you in pain, and if so is this being managed for you?
I hope you’ll have your start date very shortly and feel that you will now be taking some positive action against this disease. It’s very scary to be waiting for things to happen, and you need to dig deep within yourself to find strength to keep going if you can. Please keep posting to let us know how you are, and we will help support you through as much as we can.

Morning Nightthinking, i am so sorry to hear how you have been treated in hospital this weekend and can only imagine how you must be feeling. I am not surprised you feel low but i am so glad you reached out last night and i am hoping you have managed to get some sleep. I dont know if you have reached out to the mcmillian helpline that opens at 8am everday, but in my own moments of despair i did reach out and they gave me comfort and i hope they may too be of some support to you. You have experienced a significant trauma in your cancer diagnosis, the change in treatment, treatment not starting and absolute fear of it all, i am so so sorry this has all happened to you. The Oncology team should have a counsellor you can be referred to and i would strongly urge you to consider requesting a referral that you can do by calling the CNS nurses.I know you have come in to contact with professionals that have been unkind and uncaring but i promise they are not all like that, and it may be that the psychologist / counsellor is your person, and can help you navigate your path ahead. Sending you hugs, i am hoping you can do something kind for yourself today nightthinking, run a nice bath, feel some of this winter sun on your face if you have it where you live, sending lots of hugs and strength
