Morning ladies
How are we all doing today? It’s a beautiful crisp spring day here and so nice to see the sun and blue skies. Just need a bit of warmth now!
We are back on the 2 week pathway in this house, but not for me this time. I’m refusing to be worried at this point-plenty time for that if and when there is something to worry about. Tests already done and a small op under general in just over a week. I’m hopeful everything will be ok, and whatever it is we can’t change the result. If it’s not so good, then I’m grateful I am much stronger physically now and better able to handle things. Always look for the silver lining! Fingers crossed though.
Hope those of you in treatment are all feeling ok, and getting enough rest. I’m going to go and warm myself up by getting some housework done-not very exciting-but a friend kindly sent me a new book through Amazon so I’m going to put my feet up and start that this afternoon.
Hope you all have a good day ladies!

Wow, £800!! Well done you! I'm in awe and very proud of you. Yes, the waiting game is the hardest part and unfortunately there's a lot of it! I'm finding the after effects of the brachy quite tough but it's the last one next Tuesday. So I can understand what you mean about everything being a struggle. Felt good today though. Keep up the good work at the gym, it obviously helps a lot. I'm also worried about putting on weight while off work but I'll try to work as hard as you are as soon as I'm able. Enjoy your week xxx
Your brachytherapy is slightly different to mine, however I know it varies hospital to hospital. Just remember the intensity of it, it’s bound to have an effect on your body and mind, all for a good cause though!!
I started my fitness journey when I knew I was ready, it’s helping me mentally as well which is always a bonus isn’t it. I’m sure once you feel ready you will start doing a bit more, there is no rush.
I am glad today was a good day for you and I hope tomorrow is even better ️

Thanks Jen, up until brachy I thought ooh I'll soon be able to get back to normal!!! Nah, not happening but as I have felt so much better today I am hoping that after the last brachy, I'll be floored for a week or two then hopefully concentrate on getting back to full fitness. I'm so glad you find it helps you mentally as well as that is a very important bonus. I know I'm only doing a mile walk every day but as I say it's quite an intense mile and I always feel better after it and always go (treatment allowing) even in snow, rain, hail!! Hugs to you xxx
Hi Julie
Final brachy this week and you’re done-amazing! Glad you’re feeling better, and once you get this last treatment over with you can focus on recovery. You’ve done really well getting through everything, it’s pretty intense and at times seems never ending, but here you are at the end. Well done on your walking-I was too exhausted at your stage to manage that, but it’s a real positive in regaining your strength.
All the best for this last lap this week! Then chill!

Hi Julie
My first brachy is on 24/03 and I'm in a panic again! Can you elaborate why it knocked you sideways? Is it exhaustion or radio runs? I'm getting more inquisitive as my time nears lol
Thanks xx
Angela
H iAngela. It was both,,very fatigued and took a pill to avoid the runnies which meant I didn't go for just over two days... I took the pill as a precaution as we were going shopping and I didn't want to be caught short...well that didn't happen!! So I was quite uncomfortable and fell asleep whenever I sat down. I had no energy either but after finally going to the loo and sleeping so much I felt loads better on Sunday. I had the lovely anesthetist again today and so far so good - I feel fine. So I would rest as much as you need to and stay close to a loo afterwards..My runnies situation is much better now, hallelujah! How are you doing...you must be getting ever closer now. Is this week 3? Good luck and keep it up xxx
Hi Julie
So it's mostly exhaustion? (Bcoz we got pills for the pesky runnies) lol. And YES my first brachy on 24th march. Last chemo 22nd march and very last radio 25th march. So the next 2 brachys shud be given the following week!!!. I will b ringing that bell come the 25th for all us who are ending or coming to an end of our journey and il give up a silent prayer for all those still struggling
