Hi, I’m wondering what will work, since Sunday I’ve had the most uncomfortable heavy sensation at the bottom of my abdomen & into my back, I’ve taken 500mg Naproxen & paracetamol all week.with no relief. The pain/ache is constant and has not eased, so much so I’ve rang my GP to see if there’s any further advice. My urgent appointment is not until Tuesday, however my cervix is red and inflamed, free from infection and everything else so far so referred under the cancer pathway for suspected CC. Each time I wipe there’s watery blood, but not enough that it leaks through to clothing. My story is in my profile.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you
Aimee xx
Hello Aimee and welcome back to the chat-I remember when you posted before about your concerns.
Oh my goodness, you’ve had such a hard time being listened to-it sounds just awful for you. Has your doctor suggested any other type of painkillers for you while you are waiting for your appointment? Sometimes a particular type isn’t as effective as we need, but there can be other options and you clearly need something which works better for you. I’d push for the gp’s advice on that. Constant pain is very debilitating and just wears you down, especially if it’s hard to sleep etc.
Your appointment at least is in a few days, so I think you’re just going to have to sit it out for now unfortunately. I hope the gynaecologist listens to you and hears your worries. I think I said to you before that I found it very strange that you would be put to have surgery without a cervical examination, and maybe hysteroscopy (camera to look at your womb). You would think these would be basic first line tests for gynae issues, as otherwise it’s kind of like locking the stable door after the horse has bolted!
All I think you can do for now is see if you can get any stronger pain relief from your gp, and take it very easy-I’ve always loved hot water bottles for pain relief and find them both helpful and comforting. Hopefully some of the lovely ladies in the group will join in and can maybe give you some additional advice or insight.
I really hope that Tuesday can be the start of you getting the answers you need. Take care of yourself. xx
Hi Aimee
How did you get on? I hope you got a callback from the gp and got something to help you out. xx
Good news Aimee. I really hope the codeine gives some relief. I know I tried a number of different painkillers to get something effective for me. The one thing to watch for with codeine is that it can make you constipated, so just be wary of that side effect! xx
