Hi
I am having a biopsy and cryo surgery on Sunday as my gynaecologist found a lesion on my last examination. My smear results and scan results have not come back yet and it’s 3 weeks since having them, should I be worried? I am currently in remission from skin cancer so gynaecologist was worried as my cancer is really high risk and spreads quickly.
I am trying to keep positive but I am scared.
Hi
It's natural to be scared both about what the results of your smear and scan might show and also about your surgery today. You might find this article about how to ease worry when waiting for medical results helpful to have a look through.
I don't know how it usually takes for the results of the tests you've had to come back but you should have been given a contact number so that you can chase them after a specified time. You could give the number a call tomorrow to find out if the results are back yet and, if not, how long it's likely to be before they are.
It would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
I hope everything goes well today and do come back and let us know how you get on.
x
