Hi Ladies,

I have since September last year been suddenly getting very heavy periods and awful clots. At first i thought nothing of it however rang my GP back in December before Christmas and they said to keep an eye for another couple of months as heavy periods can be normal, however I’m not satisfied as its all of a sudden and I am not on any contraception either. I have also been having painful sex and random pains and cramping in between periods. I have also been feeling extremely weak and tired. I then rang my GP again who did some bloods that came back normal apart from a vitamin d definciency.  GP also sent me for ultrasound last week and it was all clear. I had in fact came on my period a week early 25th January so ultrasound had to be done whilst on period(uncomfortable) however been given all clear. However today I seem to have started heavy bleeding again and having my period (I originally was due 1st) so i am basically having a 2nd period. I can’t help but feel concerned and not sure if anyone else has had a similar experience and it turned out to be nothing? I have also been waking up with a full bladder every morning. I have recently finished a course of antibiotics as blood was found in ny urine that was about 3 weeks ago. I literally do not know what to do next i have also lost weight over half a stone without trying and I don’t usually lose weight easily.

Many thanks for reading this. I’m a bit. all over at the moment and not sure what to think.

Hi I don't have the answer to your question but I didn't want to read and run.. But can I just say, this actually sounds exactly like me, my periods have all of a sudden became extremely heavy to the point that I've been leaking 3 heavy flow tampons per hour when it's bad.my periods have also been lasting way too long, longest being 14 days, I spot in between periods and my periods come 2 weeks apart... I cramp in my lower back, in my pelvis and up my left side to the point that it has woken me from a deep sleep.. Sex has been painful and I always bleed after. My gp took a smear and bloods but all came back normal and she said she's not worried because during my smear all she could see was cervical ectropion, so she's referred me to gynae as "urgent" but hasn't red flagged me so in these circumstances "urgent" isnt really urgent and can take up to 6 months to get an appointment.. I'm so not happy at all and there us nothing I can do about it.

Hi I came across this and it sounded like a lot of what I experienced I am 12 month post treatment due a scan to confirm no evident of the disease still fingers crossed. I was having painful sex intermittent bleeding and really heavy periods back and abdominal pain shooting pains in groin into legs I had a stomach and vaginal unltrasound and bloods came back clear all smears were clear last September however seen the gynecologist in October he put spectulum in and straight away he said I can’t continue showed me and it was filled with blood arranged for an urgent colposcopy where I was told it’s probable cancer from then it was test scans and they found I had a five cm tumour from womb growing downwards into my cervix and later scan confirmed soread to my lymph nodes in pelvis stage 3c they was quick with getting my treatment and the team was fantastic and so supportive. I would say to anyone you know your body for years I was palmed off with the IBS and it didn’t show in smears as it was growing down so you know your body be persistent and make sure theyhave covered all areas x hope this helps
