Hi, I am new to the group. I was diagnosed with HPV infection then CIN 3 High Grade. Had loop procedure and due to on-going issues with pelvic pain and bloating going to have an ultrasound scan pelvic and vaginal. My CA125 result was low which is good news. This is all a big shock having always had normal smear tests, though I haven't spoken much about it as I had precancerous cells removed it makes you feel a fraud as not cancer but too close. Anyone else felt like this and confused and in limbo waiting on next smear test.
Hi again Paddle4b8592 and welcome to our group.
It’s horrible to have any kind of abnormal result from testing, so I can understand that you’ll have concerns. Hopefully when you go for your test of cure at the 6 month point all will be well for you. When the treatment was done and the abnormal cells removed, did you get the results to confirm that this had been done with clear margins? This would mean the cells were successfully removed with a margin of healthy tissue around them?
I didn’t go through the same experience as I was diagnosed with cancer from the start, so I’ll leave others to reply who have experience of going through the loop procedure and further testing. I did however want to say hello so that you knew your post had been seen and acknowledged. I hope all will go well with your next test.
Sarah xx
Hi Sarah,
thank you for your reply and support. The results said abnormal cells removed and confirmation of CIN 3 high risk, but not with margin of healthy tissue around.
I have on-going pain and bloating, loss of appetite so have ultra sound and vaginal scan next Friday. Hope you are staying well xx
I think it’s a good idea that you’re having some further tests in terms of the upcoming scans. CIN itself shouldn’t cause pain, so it’s best to get your symptoms investigated, just to check if there’s anything going on. That may give you some answers much earlier than waiting for your test of cure, although I hope there’s nothing sinister found!
If your symptoms persist but the ultrasound scans are clear, then I’d push for another type of scan if possible, because you need an explanation for the pain especially. Please let us know how you get on.
Thank you-I’m doing ok..I’ve been through treatment and extensive surgery but as far as my cancer is concerned, I’ve done pretty well overall.
Sarah xx
