Freaking out

Hi I have put questions in here before .....I'm freaking out big time as my internal scan came back abnormal...I have put the report in below.....can someone tell me if they've had the same thing?

  • Hi

We are not medical professionals, but your womb looks completely normal on this report. The position is normal, the womb lining (endometrium) is normal at 3mm.

It’s impossible to guess what the irregular appearance of the cervix might mean but it may be completely normal for your cervix. I haven’t had the same thing, but I had a cancer diagnosis from the very first examination, so I had a very obvious tumour which was seen by the gynaecologist before any scan.

I understand you’re very anxious, but you’ll drive yourself crazy and make yourself ill if you cannot try to keep a little calmer. I read something in another post today which stayed with me-every day you haven’t been told you have cancer is a day without cancer. That’s a good way to think!

  • Thanks for the reply...I'm more worried about the cervix as its showing abnormal...The doctor has freaked me out as I had bleeding last year and I cancelled the app with nurse because it stopped..he doctor said she could kill me for not following up last year...She then apologized. I'm more worried as I'm getting sent for a ct scan without even seeing the consultant...is this the norm?

She did examine me and said there was no bleeding and my cervix didn't look "rugged"

So sorry to freak out but I am generally an anxious person and I think its been magnified by the wait.

Are you ok now? what's your journey been?

  • You’ll see my journey if you click on my name, and it’s been a tough one. But I’m considered cured by my surgeon, so I’m ok with that.

But I never spent too much time worrying about things I couldn’t control. I didn’t have a ct scan until I had a cancer diagnosis, so I don’t know how usual it is to have this prior to a diagnosis.

I have suffered from anxiety for many years, but never specifically health anxiety. But I understand general anxiety, and the ptsd I have been subsequently diagnosed with. It’s tough and I’ve had help with this.

You don’t need to apologise for freaking out, but things are rarely as bad as we think they might be.
