Evening,

I'm 7 weeks post radical hysterectomy today the only thing i have left is an ovary (had 1 removed years ago) and the 1st 2 weeks of recovery were brill hardly any pain, a little swelling but just the normal. As the weeks have went on iv noticed my boobs and nipples in particular are sore is this normal I'm reading a lot about hormone changes but that's people having ovaries removed, and that's not me. On the other hand it could be a flare of my fibro what do you guys think?

  • Hi

I’m not sure about what’s normal, but I had a radical hysterectomy 4 weeks ago (including both ovaries removed so put me in surgical menopause at age 42) and I have started with sore boobs and nipples in the past couple of days.

I also have fibromyalgia, but I’ve had an eczema flare up on my boobs a few times over the past 2-3 years so I assumed this was the cause and started applying my usual steroid cream for eczema to see if that helps. It usually takes a few days for the cream to make a difference so I can’t tell whether it’s worked yet.

I hadn’t considered another cause, but it would be interesting to know if anyone else experienced this after surgery in case there is a connection.

Hope the soreness stops for you soon.

    Louise x

  • Oh, so much going on all at the one time. I have lupus and fibro amongst other things and when I was diagnosed I had to come off all meds so I'm defo getting symptoms from not being on meds but usually the fibro skin pain is all over this is just boobs and inner thighs very strange. I wasnon the mini pill for 20 years and obv agter op didnt need it anymore so I'm wondered wether that can cause symptoms, hope ur eczema clears soon and ur recovery is going well. This week is the 1st week iv felt more like myself x
