So following on I had a biopsy on the area that showed on the pet Ct scan last Friday.  Not heard re result yet but have pre op appt tomorrow and planned surgery next Thursday .  Guess this will be canx if the biopsy doesn’t come back clear ?  Anyone else been here ?

    1. I have had surgery booked tentatively before all resukts were back but they did make itclear to me.l that it was resukts dependent. Did you ask anyone? Phone sprcialist nurse maybe? Keeping fingers crossed for you x
  • Hi

They will like to have the pre op assessment done and the theatre time booked so everything can go ahead if possible. It’s easier for it all to be cancelled than set up if that makes sense, but hoping the surgery can still be done for you.

  • Hi all

so I had a phone pre op on Monday and yesterday I had a hospital pre op. But still no node results - they didn’t seem aware of it. I’m having surgery at a different hosp- they were all lovely.
so I still feel in limbo.  And anxious.

  • They often only seem to have the info they need at the time. Hard to keep waiting I know but getting closer to getting sorted everyday. Hopefully you will hear after the weekend xx

  • The pre op tests are done by general nurses who are doing the same tests for everyone undergoing all sorts of surgery so they won’t have any information on your individual test results or know what tests etc you have had. The limbo of waiting is very difficult though, so I hope you do hear soon.

  • Sarah,

Can I ask where you are with things at the moment? Xx

  • If you click on my name, my story is there. Don’t let it scare you though as I had a recurrence and huge surgery so I’m not typical, but I was extremely lucky to be able to have my operation so I was actually very fortunate, even though it was life changing, and I’m still here and doing ok more than 4 years out from my original diagnosis.

  • Well your story is horrifying but all that comes across to me is how brave and inspiring you are! I hope you continue to do well and always here if you need a turn at being supported. Meanwhile I will just continue to feel boosted by your support xxx

  • Yes, it’s not an easy read and wasn’t an easy thing to go through but it gave me a second chance at life which I grabbed and clung on to. I was so lucky to get that, so I try not to dwell on the negative but concentrate on the positives wherever I can. When you are faced with such a huge option, it might seem easier to give up, but I was never going to do that! It was scary though, I will admit that. Now I spend a lot of time trying to help others in my group who are facing this, and it has led me to meet many other courageous women who never want to give up either. I’ve made some incredible friends there, so there’s always a silver lining in everything if you look for it.

  • I don’t seem to be able to reply to some threads ?!  The specialist nurse and one of the gynae drs did my pre op so I will see them both next week and know them (or their faces). I guess every hips is different .  It will all sort
