Hi, I'm newly diagnosed. Rare cancer, Mesonephric adenocarcinoma, but in cervix so being treated as cervical. Had radical hysterectomy and recommending radio and Cisplatin chemo together for 5 weeks.
Fearful of side effects as I think this sounds an intense course of treatment.
Does anyone have experience of this treatment plan?
Many thanks.
Oh no, that's a shame! Yes have been worried about how you ensure an empty bowel everyday, I can't do that on demand xx
Hi Shabettyboop, I saw your messages and just wanted to say when I had my treatment I also was really worried about having an empty bowel for treatment especially since I regularly suffered constipation! Some hospitals give you mini enemas prior to radio (mine didn't) but you really have to go with the flow and if there is wind etc they ask you to try get rid by moving around/going to loo. You may get some looser stools a few weeks in from radio treatment and in some ways that helps the preparation prior to radio!
Please don't worry as they are used to these things and they understand that no one can "perform" to order each day. You will get through this and I wish you the very best.
I was also Stage 2B and am happy to support you with any further questions. Good Luck x
Hi Sharon
I couldn’t perform on demand either, but after the initial issue at the planning scan it was fine and I had no further problems. The runs set in in my 3rd week of treatment so that solved things. I found having a full bladder for each treatment more of a challenge.

Thank you for response, that's comforting. Got some dulcolax for tonight so
Hope you're doing well xx
I've got my check up scan next week so have the old "scan anxiety" but hopefully all still clear. If you read my profile you'll see I've had a few issues but I had health issues before the cancer.
Hi Shabettyboop,
I'm new to this forum so a bit nervous. I was diagnosed with endometrium mesonephric like adenocarcinoma in September 2022 which had metastasised to the lungs in May 2023. I've been told it's a very rare, aggressive type of cancer and very little is known about it. Can you tell me how yours is going please, as I think we may have the same cancer?
Take care.

Hi and welcome to our group.
I’m not sure if you noticed that this post is more than 2 years old so it may be that you don’t get any replies on this thread. I will tag Shabettyboop who posted before Shabettyboop
I don’t have experience of the type of cancer you have, but you may also want to put a post in the womb group since it appears that this is a rare type of endometrial adenocarcinoma. The group can be found here
It can be difficult to find others to connect with when you have a rarer cancer type, but you are also welcome to post any questions to the nurses here (although please allow a couple of days for a reply).
I’m sorry I am not able to help further, but hope you can find some support within the community.
Sarah xx
No problem at all Joanne. It can be disheartening when you post and don’t hear anything back from the original poster but there can be multiple reasons for that, so I was just hoping to give you another couple of avenues to try for support.
I’d also suggest that you complete your own profile page so that other members can see where you are in terms of your diagnosis and treatment. This makes it easier for others with a similar diagnosis to respond to you, and some may have been through similar treatment even though the type of cancer might be different. If you click on a member’s name and they have completed their profile details, you will be able to read their story which might be helpful to you too.
If you need any help with completing your profile, please get back to me and I can help.
I really hope you can find others to talk to-I had cervical adenocarcinoma and treatment and surgery, but it wasn’t a rare sub type.

Hi Joanne, I'm sorry to hear your news. I was diagnosed July 22 with spread to lungs Jan 23. I had carboplatin and paclitaxel, well tolerated but unfortunately didn't work. I have no current treatment but am doing OK, bit puffed sometimes so take it easy.
I hope you find a treatment plan that works for you. Regards Sharon
