Hello,

It's been 18 months since I finished treatment for cervical cancer, I have had many issues since, recently with blood in my pee. I had a cysticopy done on Friday where it shows another of radiation damage. It also shown a suspicious area where they said I need a urgent biopsy. I don't want to scare anyone as everybody is different. But just wanted to reach out if anyone has been or going through something similar. I  didn't get much information just a letter and don't know what happens next. .

Thanks

Leigh

  • Hi  Leigh

I remember you posting before about the late effects you were suffering from, and I’m sorry to read that something has now been discovered in your bladder that is a concern.

When something is identified after a cystoscopy, normally the next procedure will be have a biopsy to determine if it something that needs to be dealt with rather than it being radiation damage. This link I’ve put here describes what the TURBT involves.

    TURBT

I haven’t been through the same, and it’s not something I have seen come up in this group before, so I’m not sure if others have been through this themselves and will be able to reply. My situation was different in that my cervical cancer had spread over the outside of my bladder when my cancer recurred, so a TURBT was not appropriate for me.

I hope you’ll get your appointment soon and that you’ll find out more.

    Sarah xx
