Hi everyone,

I've been having treatment for 6mths. Have sec breast cancer, spread to bones and lungs. V positive thinker.

I'm really interested to hear how long people are having hormone and targeted treatments for? (Letrozole and CK/46 - think that's right)

I'm generally well and active, but a bit run down after after a hectic hol. Again, wondering how long folk are continuing with relatively normal lives?

I have no pain, using Amytriptylene to treat arm nerve pain and lymphodeoma,  and it's v effective.

First scan showed v good response, reduction in tumours and improving bones. Hoping others can reassure me this will continue?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear that you have secondary breast cancer.  While I don't have an answer for you I noticed you haven't had any replies yet so I thought I'd reply to you to welcome you to the community.  Hopefully someone will be along shortly with an answer for you.

Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.

    Best wishes

  • Thank you for the welcome.

I did get 1 reply, but for some reason my log in to reply didn't cooperate and now can't see it!

What kind of things do you do as a Community Champion?

  • I give support to anyone who is looking for it not only in the Breast Cancer forum but also in the triple negative breast cancer forum and some of the other forums on the online community if I can.

  • I try and help others by being open about my diagnosis, and discussing with folk newly diagnosed ways of carrying on as normally as poss.

I did the Cancer Research UK squats challenge for a mth last Yr, before I knew about the bones spread, so it's surprising how your body can continue and handle weaknesses.

    1. I also urge anyone to chase up results, write questions in advance, and have any unexplained pain investigated.
