I am posting here for the first time because my mum has been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer spread to bones.
She waited over 3 months for a ct scan result to find out this information. She received an appointment at Addenbrooks hospital which has been cancelled.
We are desperate and want to consider private treatment as we have no faith in the NHS now.
We are in the Cambridge area. If anyone can give recommendations as to which hospital to use, that would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi , so sorry to hear about your mum. That is shocking! Not sure about private but I would get on to PALS immediately and see if they can get things moving, I’m sure NHS guidelines say you should start treatment within 12 weeks. My treatment started 5 weeks after first scan . I had other scans and biopsy in that time. Xx
I was scanned straight away though after having symptoms a& e (symptoms unrelated to the cancer though so found by chance). Three months is ridiculous though. And then to cancel your appointment at this anxious time. PALS are good, I’ve used them before for something else . Good luck and hope you get things moving soon. Xx️
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
