I have just finished my 3rd week of Ibrance. Also taking Letrozole daily. I have secondary breast cancer which has spread to the lymph nodes in my abdomen. I had a primary breast cancer 14 years ago - so it was a big surprise. Anyone in the same boat?

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

That must have been a big shock to have found that your breast cancer had returned in your lymph nodes 14 years after your original cancer.

I don't have the experience you're looking for, but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily seen.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hello Elsie1311, welcome.
I’m new to this site too.
I’m 39 and had breast cancer 5 years ago. Went through chemo and then on tamoxifen for 10 years… or so it seemed until I found a lump above my mastectomy scar. Thinking nothing of it I left it but when my arm began to ache constantly I went to the GP who was pretty sure it would be nothing to worry about. Fast forward 4 weeks and it turned out to be the cancer returning in my lymph nodes, near my scar and it had also spread to my liver with three tumours found on there. I’m at stage 4 which was a huge shock especially with no family history at all.
Very happy to offer you any support or even you to me… we seem to be in a similar boat.
    Gemma xx

  • Hi sounds like we are in a similar boat. My secondaries are in my lymph nodes in my abdomen. I am on my second month of a combination of oestrogen blocker and targeted therapy. The hardest thing I am finding is tiredness and heavy limbs. I wake up thinking I can do all sorts today but manage a bit get out of breath ache so sit down for a breather and quite often fall asleep.
