Hi,
I'm new to the group. First diagnosis 2013, second 2018, secondary Jan 2020.
I'm on ribociclib and fulvestrant, been getting on fine. Now diagnosed with pleural effusion, anybody with experience, advice, wisdom - it would be much appreciated
I had a pleural effusion when I was diagnosed. Had a routine x ray for a persistent cough, which I wasn't to worried about as I am asthmatic and had had Covid. They saw the effusion, did a CT scan and low and behold found they breast cancer. All a huge shock. The effusion was drained and so far hasn't come back. I am on pertuzumab and trastuzumab. sub cut injections every three weeks and letrozole tablets daily. I'm quite new to all this only diagnosed in April 2021 so don't have any advice to give I'm afraid. Maybe they will change the meds you are on?!
Thank you Jude3, what a shocking experience for you. At least with me I know that it is likely to be the cancer. You have given me what I needed, someone who's been through it recently and that it hasn't come back.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
