Hi over Xmas I was DX with lung mets and possible bone mets from my primary breast cancer 15 years ago.

I go to see my onc on Thursday following a biopsy from swollen underarm lymph nodes to discuss treatment.

I have two children 5 & 8 and am concerned whether I should be shielding before treatment starts and if so what has anyone else done who has school age children. I am determined I want all this to affect them as little as possible and for their mental health school is the best place not at home with me trying to teach them. i
will discuss this at my appt Thursday but wondered what others have done?

thank you x

  • Hi there, I was diagnosed with secondaries in September, in the middle of treatment for primary. I've 2 teenagers who have been attending school throughout whilst I've been working from home. I was due to start back into the office this morning, but have decided to wait for the vaccine before returning.. your GP will confirm if you should be shielding. I've been staying home as much as I possibly can. Good luck
