Hi everyone;

Haven't been on for a while hope everyone is doing the best they can at this time.

After 3 years on palbociclib it has stopped working, today I am starting VINORELBINE  and wondered if any one has had this drug and how they got on with it thanks xx

Stay safe love and hugs Jenny xx

  • Hi Jenny

    Although I don't have any experience with this drug I noticed that your post hadn't had any response yet.

    I've had a look through the group and recent people who have mentioned this drug include and . I'm hoping that by 'tagging' them they will come along and tell you about their experiences.

    Wishing you all the best

  • Has anyone on here had or is having oral chemo, due to start it next week and am terrified of the side effects.Thank you

  • Hi

    I have been on oral chemo for over 3 years and I found the side effects a lot more doable, what are you having, all have side effects but they not too bad I was on palbociclib for three years and it was not bad at all, the only reason I had it changed was because it stopped working, Only had 2 courses of my new one and it’s not too bad at all, apart from tiredness but I am in my 70s so old age too I expect.

    Don’t worry everyone is different but they are doable and that’s what you need to help you then it’s worth it.

    Stay Safe everyone, Love and hugs Jenny xxx

    Hi GrannyLara, if your oncologist is following the NICE treatment pathway for MBC and there is no visceral crisis starting Vinoralbine is standard treatment. It doesn't cause complete hair loss so that's a bonus but the side effects can still be hard so make sure you look after yourself. I would say make sure you are monitored closely as the trial data is limited and not that strong with progression free survival when compared to IV chemo but using it follows the approved lines of treatment. I hope the drug is kind to you and you get a good result, Sammy x

  • Hi Grannylara think I remember you from the old forum, I have been diagnosed with bone cancer in my spine I am due to start Palbociclib on Monday the cancer is secondries from breast cancer in 2017, have had a lot of backache but just thought it was arthritis was devastated when it was Cancer again, how did you get on with the drug did you have any nausea, I am 75 and all I can think about is the side effects hopefully I won’t get many.

  • Hi

    I found the palbociclib ok the first couple of rounds were a bit iffy but very tolerable once you got used to them, and never bothered me after that, I also had faslodex injections with it too, in fact I had it for the three years until it stopped working as well, but couldn’t complain that it stopped me doing anything. I was given some anti sickness but to be honest it didn’t really bother me only on a few odd occasions. Hope you get on ok with it xx

    I am tolerating the Vinorelbine ok so far and after my second cycle my tumour markers are coming down nicely.

    I had the special genetic test before I was put on it too, we are very lucky we were one of the hospitals already doing it before new chemo, but they are trying to role it out in all hospitals soon, we are also a research hospital which helps, when I was on palbociclib I was my professors case study because I had such good results on it. Just hoping I will get the same on vinorelbine xx
