Hi, am suffering terribly with itching. Hives and redness/rashes. Has anyone got any tips, I’ve increased fluid intake, use zeroderm and E45, etc,. Also looking for recommendations on washing powders that are easy to buy. Thanks

  • Hello sorry to hear about that. Could it also be linked to hay fever?

I use antihistamines when the pollen count is very high. For washing clothes I use a liquid detergent (Ariel or Persil).

When showering I’ve been using Dermol 600 Bath emollient and have been using it wash my hands too. I’m avoiding soap as it’s too harsh. For shampoo/conditioner I use the ogx brand - mainly thee coconut one for curls.
Then to moisturise I’ve been using cetraben/epaderm.
if it’s resulting in rashes, best to see the Dr. I got prescribed a clear tape to apply on the worst hit areas. Think it’s got steroids in it.

    Hi

You don't mention what if any meds you are taking at the moment but a lot of cancer treatment medications can cause a slight allergic / hives / rash type side effect.

It may be worth trying an anti-histamine like Piriton etc to see if it helps. Do check with your GP or Oncologist this is ok to try, taking into consideration any other meds you may be having though.

Good luck easing the itching, G n' J
