Hope it’s ok to be here - it’s not me with cancer it’s my mum. She’s 79 & has just found out her breast cancer returned . It has spread to lumps above her eyebrow, below her remaining breast, hip & lymph nodes behind breast bone.
What I’m confused about is the lumps - could they be just under the skin or would they be from an organ? They didn’t explain it well in the scan results appointment. Or maybe I didn’t ask the right questions. The one above her eye worries me greatly.
they are saying no operation or chemo but possibly a pill. We see the oncologist on Monday to discuss treatment plans.
Hi Molly
i am sure the oncologist will explain it more clearly on Monday. My understanding is that if it’s left the lymph nodes it would be circulating in blood so don’t think it will be from an organ. If it was in an organ I would have thought that would show on the scan. Mine showed up in the liver on a scan, and then popped up on my neck a couple of years later. But hey I’m not a doctor.
There are a lot of meds available, write your questions down ready for Monday. And stay off google just look on official cancer sites.
