Hi and hello everyone.
I'm trying to find info and other people who have a breast cancer spread in the pancreas . I've been on capecitibine for a couple of years or so and ended up with so many of the side effects, I had to stop. That was about 8 months ago. I have ct's every 3 months and the one 3 weeks ago showed that the tumour had grown. This is seemingly a very rare type of spread. I'm now taking creon because I have Pancreatic exocrine insufficiency. My journey to that point has been uncomfortable.
Is there anyone out there with the same?
Can anyone give me advice?
Thank you.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I don't have the experience you're after but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies so far.
I typed 'pancreas' into the search bar in this group and found a few posts which mention this including one from Patti48. By tagging her she'll see my reply to you, if she's still a member of this community, and might be able to share her experiences with you.
If you haven't already done this, you could use the search facility to have a read through previous posts and respond to any of the more recent ones if you want to ask the posters any questions.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi Belish
I had a lesion on my pancreas while being treated for breast cancer mets to the liver and peritoneum. When I queried it with my oncologist I was told it was on the outside of the pancreas - not inside the pancreas. I also found creon helpful. I never really had problems regarding the pancreas and assume that has remained stable although I have had progression elsewhere. My secondary diagnosis came 18 years after the primary! I hope your treatment is effective. Good luck x
Hi and thanks for replying. The docs have called this a tumour now and as I have had a few years on capecitibine and acquired almost all the side effects, I really didn't look forward to going back on it. They decided to review my history from the very moment of diagnosis in 2003. I was diagnosed with secondaries in 2013 and then the spread to my pancreas in 2016. I'm waiting on info to have a picc line put in and I'm to start on Epirubilin. I hope this works and reduces the size of the tumour with fewer side effects although I've been warned I might lose my hair again. Ah well.
Take care and all the best. x
