Hi all
New here to the group..and thought why not have a read to see how everyone is coping, 3 weeks ago my mum was diagnosed with secondary cancer after 10 years free, 5 weeks before that it was constant headaches etc and was mostly doctors appointments which was told she was suffering from depression...it was only the days before she had trouble walking, she was really slow and thought sod this I'll take her to a&e.......glad I did really and was told the same night she had 3 on the brain,1 in the chest and one in the bottom of the spine....when we had the appointment with oncologist she went through the stages of the scan and from head down she was covered, and was told it was terminal.
They put her on steroids which started working straight away and still on them, all week last week we travelled 70 miles each day for treatment to oxford which is never a good journey
But now it's over and it feels like it's just a waiting game now and I'm terrified for the coming weeks x
Hello
I was so sorry to read your post. I can't offer anything in the way of knowledge, I just can offer my heartfelt sympathies.
There are 2 groups which may prove to be supportive for you Carers Only and Family and Friends. If you click the green links it will take you to the groups. You can join as many groups as you wish.
If you have any specific breast cancer related questions for the ladies in this group, then do ask them. (I'm not secondary, so I have no knowledge -sorry) I am sure those in this group will do their best to help. If you are looking for others going through the awfulness of caring/watching your Mum endure this awful disease then the other 2 groups are well worth joining.
If there is something that the ladies here can't assist with then the Ask an Expert could help you. There is a turnaround of a couple of days for an answer, so it isn't an immediate response. Or you can ring the helpline. If you have any immediate concerns then naturally contact the hospital treating your Mum.
Thinking of you at this terrible time.
Thank you so much for kind words.
I will look at these groups
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
