Hi I had radiotherapy in Nov 2018 I am on hormone inhibitor injections monthly since then as well. Scans showed my cancer behind breast bone shrinking but lately been experiencing pain again!! Having a scan next week but pain from rads has been mentioned. I'm not so sure and suspect bad news. The pain is right down breast bone and over left side quite stabbing and when I breath in!

I had radiotherapy done in October 2017, was told that I would continue to get pain for 2 years post radiotherapy. Whilst I don't get pain all the time, when I do, I am still feeling it in the entire blast area. So left breast, ribs, shoulder blade.

    Hi

I had my initial diagnosis in Nov 2013, low grade so lumpectomy, 4 clear lymph nodes removed, followed by radiotherapy 2013-14. Post op, I  developed cellulitis, ( months on antibiotics), followed by Lymphoedema in op breast.

Fortunately, this has mostly gone. I have my upper arm monitored periodically by the NHS Lymphoedema practitioner at a local hospital.

Since then I’ve had pain in op breast ( 8 marker clips were left in unbeknown to me until I questioned dots on an x-Ray a Consultant was looking at !).  Another consultant, when I described my symptoms said I had radiation damage: Tietze’s syndrome.

I have pain in the region of my radiation tattoo on side, over ribs on op side. When I breath, I can hear my lung/s (?) crackle too, at night when it’s quiet. I can’t lie on that side in bed as it is too uncomfortable.

You could ask your Consultant if you have radiation damage eg Tietze’s syndrome,  and if there is a test to identify where the damage is?
