Hi, does anyone have experience of different brands of Capecitabine and various side effects on them please?

I was on Accord for the past few months, now the Health Authority has switched to Morningside Health Care following a more cost effective bid by the Pharmaceutical company, I was informed this information by the Hospital Pharmacy.

I don’t feel as well on new brand.

Also,  does anyone have experience of the original patented Xeloda ? I’m not sure if it’s still available any longer?

Thank you

  • hi Judith

I'm sorry I haven't a clue but we'd talked about different brands a few times and I do think it makes a difference, I was given lorazepam a few times and the prescriptions were always different, the texture of the pills was even different although I think the effect was the same.

did you see Lynn's post on acupuncture ?

I wonder if it might be worth a try in this situation ?

    Hi Carolyn   Panda face

I have tried Acupuncture in the past for back pain and it does work for me Blush I saw a great Acupuncturist at The Macmillan  Horizon Centre, when I had the free 6 sessions of complementary therapy. I took her card and also have a good massage therapist to see from that time too.

Now that I’m on daily blood thinner tablets instead of stomach injections, I will look into this.

    Thank you
