Hi all on the secondary breast cancer site, I’ve been wondering if any of you have made it to 5 years + with this disease?
I have secondary breast cancer to the bones and I’m 2 years since my diagnosis but have wondered how others have fared with their diagnosis
understand if it’s too gloomy to report on but would appreciate any feedback
thanks
Hi Starflower,
Prognosis isn't something that anyone can predict. Some people can get bone mets, start basic treatment, and have that treatment keep them stable for 10+, even 20+ years.
Others aren't so lucky and the cancer progresses on treatment, and the treatment needs to be changed.
My wife hasn't been very lucky, but she's over 3 years out from 2ndary diagnosis now, and we still have many more treatments to try.
Cheers,
Andy
