My 59 year old wife was diagnosed HER2+ nearly a year ago. She's done fantastic with chemo and radiotherapy all done, and coming towards end of Herceptin infusions.
So both shocked today after results of Ultrasound indicate likely metastatic in liver. To be confirmed one way or another with CT scan.
Meeting with consultant next Monday and will listen very closely to what she has to tell us. But also want to look at any possibilities that can help.
I've read good things regarding Enhertu (other than varied side effects). But confused even after trying to understand the NICE rejection.
We live in England. I see that Enhertu not available for Her2 Low, but what about positive? Obviously would need to be prescribed but can anyone confirm one way or the other?
Any other advice very warmly received.
Best wishes to everyone on the forum xx
Hi altough and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your wife's cancer may have spread to her liver and I can understand how shocking this must have been for you both.
I'm not a member of this group but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again. It would be great if you could put something about your wife's diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hi latchbrook many thanks for your response.
Yesterday I emailed NICE directly and got a response to say that dependent on recommendation from my wife's oncologist then she should be eligible for Enhertu.
Great news
