CA 15-3 markers blood test

Just wondering if anyone else had experienced this? In between scans, I have regular blood cancer markers tests. In the most recent the levels had dropped right down to the “normal range”, indicating a good response to my latest chemo. I know those tests are not the complete picture, but I had allowed myself to feel a little hopeful for scans week! Unfortunately scan results have now shown the opposite - disease progression in all areas of mets. I’m sure my consultant will be able to explain this to me but in the meantime, has this happened for anyone else, or does anyone know why this might happen? Thanks all!

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I don't have the experience you're looking for but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be easier for the other forum members to see.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
