I have one more chemo session left in 2 weeks - woohoo - and then start 3 weeks of radiotherapy from the middle of July. I had a meeting with the oncologist to discuss this on Wednesday where he also talked about hormone therapy. He said this was the preferred option to avoid axillary node clearance (spread found after my mastectomy in December 2025). I will be on zolkadox injections and letrozole so I know this will bring on rapid menopause. I was pre-menopausal before this and am 47. Any suggestions on how to deal with menopausal joys or cream/gel recommendations for the skin for any radiotherapy flare ups would be greatly appreciated. Xx
Hi, I used Aveeno cream post radiotherapy and that helped for sure. I take letrozole and am lucky enough not to have many side effects so I hope this is similar for you. Best wishes
I am also a fan of Aveeno. I use the Dexerma range, which is the one with the blue rather than green labelling. I haven’t experienced zoladex or letrozole as my cancer isn’t hormone sensitive, but I did go through the menopause naturally before I was diagnosed with cancer. The biggest menopause issue I experienced was vaginal dryness and all I can say is if it starts, treat it straight away rather than waiting.
