Hi guys,
just wanted to see if anyone on a similar regimen with scalp cooling preserved any of the hair? I had my second dose of paclitaxel and the shedding is so bad I think I will lose all my hair. If you were on the same regimen did the shedding get worse with more paclitaxels or did it slow down at some point? I was all fine on EC, the shedding was minimal but now it all just scares me. I am trying not to touch my hair. This thursday is my 3rd infusion. Below how my hair looks at the moment. Thank you.

Hi Wiola
I will pop a link to my experience. I also had paclitaxel (and carboplatin) in 2022 as treatment for endometrial cancer.
It is normal to experience some shedding with each cycle. it is not a sign that it is not working. I had more shedding with each cycle but also my hair started to grow back in during chemo. At the end of chemo I had fast and strong hair regrowth and I do believe that this was because the scalp cooling was helping to protect my hair follicles.
I found that it can really help to focus on the hair that is left on your head, rather than what has come out. I know it is difficult to do this. I will pop a link to a blog with some info about hair care.
Although you have had some shedding, you have retained a lot of hair and when mine was at that stage I found I could disguise it using those spray in root touch up sprays. I think it was around the 2nd post chemo that I noticed the most shedding.
I really hope it works for you. I know it can be a tough thing to go through.

Just a thought- I used a little dry shampoo- more as a styling aid- if hair is flat to your head then the scalp can be a little more visible. The dry shampoo helped fluff things up a bit and helped hide it a bit. Also things like moving your parting a bit to the side can help. I didn't use any styling products or heat as that can make things worse.
