Hi. Today I went back to the hospital after a lumpectomy and central lymph node biopsy. I was told the cancer is in my lymph nodes and grade 3, not 2 like they said after core biopsy. I am going to need chemotherapy, another operation (shaving) and radiotherapy. I feel like my whole world has been shattered. Has anyone had a similar experience?
Hello Daisy2020
So sorry to hear your news. There will be a lot of ladies who have had their breast cancer spread to their lymph nodes and like you, they will be feeling as if their whole world has just changed in an instant.
I didn't have spread to my lymph nodes, but even then I remember just how traumatic it was.
I am sure there will be some other ladies around now who can share their experiences with you and offer some support. (it was obviously a quiet time on the forum earlier when you posted).
Kindest wishes to you,
Lesley
Thank you for your reply. Hope you are doing well xxx
Hi Daisy2020
Welcome to the forum, I'm Daisy53 also a Community Champion. I'm sorry to hear that they discovered cancer in the lymph nodes that they took and that it's been upgraded to grade 3. I had the same happen to me nearly three years ago and it was a shock to say the least. I had to have a have a further operation to take the rest of my lymph nodes and chemo. While I won't say chemo is easy, it is doable and you will be given medication to help counteract any side effects you may have.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.
Best wishes

Hello
My cancer was already diagnosed in the lymph nodes when they found the lump in my breast .
I went from 2 to a 3 scared but consultant assured me it was treatable.
I had 15 lymph nodes removed 5 were cancerous 10 clear and a 4 cm lump in my left breast.
Chemo was manageable 6 sessions altogether everyone was so nice in the unit and speaking to others helped .I normally felt rough for about 6 days after treatment then ok for 2 wks
There was a light at the end of journey.
I tried to remain positive and on good days carried on as normal .visiting friends and having breaks away for a few days .
20 rounds of radiotherapy was ok a completely different experience.
Now on meds for 5 yrs as mine? As estrogen positive.
It's been 14 months now since diagnosis and 13 months since surgery.
Awaiting results if first mammogram since it all begun this is worse then waiting for the biopsy results!!
You will get there I'm sure take each day good and bad and try and remain positive xx
Thank you so much for your reply. Mine is also estrogen positive. Your advice and positivity helps so much. Good luck with your mammogram results. I’m sure you will be ok
