I recently had a biopsy and ultrasound due to finding quite a big lump in my left breast near my nipple. My breast has been feeling tender/uncomfortable for a little while prior to this but I thought it was hormonal until I noticed the lump.
What I'm hoping to know is... The radiographer was very evasive when I asked anything. The only info I was given was that it's definitely not a cyst, and she doesn't know what it is, and that my breast on that side is very dense. I asked if it looked suspicious or if she had an idea of what it could be and she just said she didn't know again but definitely not a cyst. Does this sound hopeful to you? From what I've read with other people on here, they were told from the scan it was likely cancer so hoping my radiographers reaction is a good sign and not a bad one. Or do they sometimes just not say anything to avoid distressing you as I was already quite anxious/upset?
I was quite shocked they biopsied as I convinced myself they'd just tell me it was a cyst and everything was fine given my age. Has anyone had a the radiographer say similar and if so what was your outcome? Thanks for reading and sending all my love to everyone finding themselves on here x
