Hi all,

I hope you are all staying strong in your battle. I am reaching out to say that I went through this journey 5 year ago at age of 44 with no family history. I had a healthy life style as well!  I was diagnoded with TNBC, nearly 3cm tumor. I was devasteated when I had my diagnosis. I went to Google and searched and I read lots of negative posts on my diagnosis. I had chemo, surgery and radio. 5 years past, I am here and haven't had any issues. I am almost back to my normal life. It was tough on the first 2-3 years but it has gone easier, now. I just wanted to tell my story to tell those with similar diagnosis that treatments do work and there is so much hope for cure. Stay strong, you will get there.

When I was battling with my disease, someone put a note about their long term survival and it gave me so much encouragement. So, I decided to do this if I survive 5 years. I hope this gives hope to all those who are battling with breast cancer. Xx

  • Thank you so much for this and I'm so glad you're doing well 5 years on.

I was diagnosed with stage 1, grade 3 TNBC in November aged 46 and had a lumpectomy and lymph node biopsy in December. I've just received the news today that my 10mm tumour has been removed with clear margins and there is no node involvement. I was so happy I had a little cry in the hospital loo!

I'm still looking at chemo and radiotherapy as preventative measures going forward but so happy to park it and crack on with life for a bit first.

I really appreciate you sharing as it will certainly give hope to others and wish you all the best for the future x

  • Thank you so much for this   I needed this tonight. I had a tumour around 34mm. I am 37 living in London, just started my second round of chemo. I feel like it has shrunk which is promising. Thank you again for this hope. X

  • Hi Em,

    • My tumor started shrinking from first round and by the end of chemo, I couldn't feel it. After surgery, I was told I have had complete response. I felt mine got softer at the start. If I can be of any help, pls let me know. All the best. Xx
  • Hello.
Thank You for the positive post. It’s great to hear that you are doing so well.
This has really given me a boost. Sending hugs.
    xx

  • So encouraging to hear thank you! I was diagnosed March 2025 with grade 2 tnbc. After all the chemo I had a partial response which I was devastated about. All removed with lumpectomy plus had clear lymph nodes and now on radiotherapy x

  • Thank you so much for sharing Heart️ it really helps

  • So far I am having a good response to chemotherapy also I hope my outcome to be the same fingers crossed x

  • Thank you for sharing this! I received diagnosis today of TNBC. I’m 48 and I first found a lump around five weeks ago. I’m absolutely terrified and haven’t made things any better for myself by spending far too long on Google! I also have cancerous cells in two lymph nodes, so am now waiting for a full body CT scan before I’ll start chemo initially in 2-3 weeks. They’ve indicted this will likely be six rounds, every three weeks.

  • I am sorry you have just been diagnosed  it’s tough going through the tests to get a full staging when all the time you want treatment to start. Unless you are looking at academic sites / papers or at information provided by a cancer charity, you can be in a minefield. Data can also be somewhat out of date. Wishing you all the best.
