Hi there,
I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node removal five days ago. I have been so surprised how minimal the pain and discomfort have been ( which is great) BUT also surprised at how exhausted I feel. I hadn’t expected that… is anyone else experiencing this? Also I have been very up and down emotionally following the surgery. This started with lots of tears when I came around from the anaesthetic… is this normal? My surgery follows 6 rounds of chemo ( I am HER 2 +).
Sorry for the ramble…the reason for posting is to ask how others are feeling who have had chemo followed by surgery. I am so fed up with being exhausted and am looking for reassurance that it will pass! Thanks and wishing everyone a good day xx
Hi Pennyspebbles welcome to the forum.. I'm imagining like most of us have been, on somewhat of a rllercoaster ride going fast and you are unable to get off you just have to keep going? We all feel like that so please be reassured you are perfectly normal..Having treatment is scarey and I'll also bet there have been many sleepless nights throughout all this? Your body is letting you know that you need to rest, have a cry if you want to or just take it easy and give yourself time to recover, process and move forward. This time will pass but it will take time to recover so rest up as you can and look after you. Best Wishes Gail xxx
