Hi
This must be horrible for you.
I was fortunate that they sent the sample to the US (of all places. Why couldn't they do it in the UK) and waiting over 4 weeks to get a result. I did get a little annoyed and frustrated at my Oncologist and care team- who was absolutely brilliant and had the plan ready for my 1st appointment with her.
The moment she said "chemo", I felt sick and panicky. I was also told that I may not need radiotherapy but ended up having 10 zaps of radiation.
It was also being told that before surgery, it was a Grade 2 and "probably not as serious for my age and size and the fact it was caught so early". Then after surgery it was Grade 3 HER2 +. I broke as it was more serious than they let on at the "testing" appointments.
All the questions you have are perfectly normal and I hope you get the answers you need from your oncology team
Take care
