Hi ladies,
I hope you are doing ok. I've not posted for a while, as completed my treatment in October last year for breast cancer (ER+ 3/8, her 2+, PR-), mastectomy, chemo and 12 months Herceptin. I was almost 48 when had first round of chemo and it put me into menopause. Hot flushes, the whole range of symptoms. Almost 19 months later I have a bleed. I go to GP and have a scan and they find a cyst on each ovary ( report says they look benign) but also what appears to be some thickening of uterine wall. I've now been referred for a hysteroscopy (although having to wait longer than the two weeks as they are so busy). Obviously, my mind is going crazy but I wonder how common it is for a period to return at my age or if the bleeding is more sinister. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who had something similar or periods return after a long absence.
Thanks in advance xx
Hi there, welcome back to the forum. I'm one of the champions here in this group and I just noticed you've not had any responses yet, and as the site is busy, your post has dropped a few pages. My answer will bump it back up and hopefully one of the lovely people on here will be along soon with a response,
Don't forget, you can also call the Macmillan chatline to talk things through with their experts. The number is 0800 808 0000. Best wishes
