When started chemotherapy months ago had some really bad side-effects since then I have had a mastectomy with the reconstruction and full lymph node clearance on the right side. However, during that time I have still experienced chemotherapy brain fog. I am suffering really bad with the effects. I cannot even drive. It is affecting my day-to-day living. I have recently started Kadcyla treatment, I will be going for my second infusion in two days time. I am feeling really low and depressed due to the brain fog. It is causing memory problems and concentration problems. I feel like I’ve had a few drinks all the time. I am doing things to try to help this I go for walks outside. I drink more water. I take magnesium supplements and I am doing crossword puzzles and games for the brain. I just feel so low at the moment does anybody have any advice on what can be done to help get rid of this sooner? Thank you

  • Have you finished your chemotherapy now?  I had brain fog, wobbly legs and tiredness towards the end of chemo and for the next 5 or 6 weeks afterwards.  It should go eventually.  Eat healthily and try to exercise every day.  I used a stick to go for a  walk.  Get plenty of sleep, and try not to be stressed.  Get out in the sunshine when you can.  But do tell your oncologist how bad you feel. Best wishes! xxx

  • I finished the really hard aggressive chemotherapy 14 weeks ago and I’ve had brain fog since then.and I just started the Kadcyla treatment 3 weeks ago.xx

    • Oh dear, I am sorry you are having to go through this!  Do tell the chemotherapy nurses or the oncologist how bad you feel.  There may be something they can do.  Hope you feel better soon. Best wishes. xxx
