Radiotherapy

Hi.

I had lumpectomy with reconstruction in Dec ‘24.  All good so far and almost healed.

I need one week of radiotherapy.  My hospital has advised a long wait.  It is currently calling patients for treatment who had their operation last June.

I’ve looked into trying elsewhere- Coventry, Northampton and Nottingham were given as possibilities.  But today I’ve been told they are no longer responding to direct approaches.

Any thoughts?

  • Hi I'm having the same problem I've been told 6mths mth wait and I'm east mids.

    I was initially told 6 months from the op.  Now it’s 9 months from March.  I guess I’m lucky I’m not a priority but if I could go elsewhere within reasonable travel I would. If anyone knows anywhere which would accept us that would be great.  Leicester has an agreement with Stoke and Lincoln - but that’s in 9 months time at the earliest.

    Like you I had my op in Dec but I had a mastectomy they removed a few nodes but it hadn't spread so I'm guessing I'm not a priority and I had it done in leicester but 9 mths does seem ridiculous x 

Help us do whatever it takes, because we’ve never been needed more.
