Hi , I’ve recently developed a large area of discolouration on the breast treated for early cancer . Radiotherapy ended 13 months ago .
l had a biopsy 4 days ago and waiting for results .
Feeling very worried and fearing the worst .
i there anyone who has also experienced this ?
Hi Phyllis A
The breast does change after radiotherapy. I've not personally had discolouration, but the best thing is that you've had a biopsy, so you will know from that if it's anything. Hopefully not!
I'm answering your post to ensure it's back on page one as you'd slipped to page 2 - with any luck someone else will be around that has a similar experience now.
Kindest wishes, Lesley
Hello,
hope you don’t mind me asking but what did the discolouring look like , I’m 3 years post radiotherapy and have noticed my breast looks yellow. Was about to ask on here when I saw your post.
thanks Sonia.
Hi Sonia ,
it’s a large area of red/ pink / almost purple skin . I’ve had a couple of seperate bruises appear as well since I saw the consultant a week ago .
my husband and I keep thinking it’s clearing a little but then worry that we’re imagining it because of fear of something serious .
i know that Radiotherapy can cause skin to change colour sometimes permanently but mine looks like done dirt if réaction and literally appeared overnight .
I think if you’re worried you should ask for advice from your breast consultant
