Hello, my mum was due to have a mastectomy this week but they have found blood clots in her lungs. I’m anxious that treating the clots will leave too long a gap after chemo finishing and operating but I suppose safer to wait until they have gone to operate? She’s on arovi blood thinner injections now. Grateful for any advice or anyone with a similar experience. She had 14 rounds of chemo and the tumour has shrunk but was in the lymph nodes and they may still be affected.
Thanks
How very scary for you and your mum but good that it was picked up on and is being treated. My post chemo mastectomy was delayed in 2020 by 3+ months. I had a reduced tumour but no known lymph nodes affected. I am still here nearly 5 years post mastectomy and doing fine. Have a read of my profile. This cancer thing is rarely plain sailing. Good luck to you and your mum.x
