Hi everyone,
It’s my first time on here and I am just wondering if anyone else had to have their surgery delayed?
I got diagnosed in October and was meant to have a lumpectomy early December. I went in for it but was too unwell with a chest infection. So I am assuming it will be January (I’m hoping). I have been started on Tamoxifen in the meantime.
I am really scared that by it being delayed it could spread somewhere else.
It’s genetic testing to find out if you have the BRCA gene. It’s for younger people who get breast cancer. If mines positive then I will need a double mastectomy and family will need testing too.
I wouldn’t worry about tamoxifen atm. I was diagnosed October and obviously will be having surgery 3 months after this. Think that’s why I’m on it now. Whereas you have just been diagnosed and getting surgery pretty quickly.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
