Dear All, I am pencilled in to have a double mastectomy on 20th December and had my bone scan on Friday of last week and my body scan yesterday. I have been told it depends on the results if they will go ahead with surgery. But when I asked how long the results will take yesterday the radiographer said up to two weeks which will be past my day of surgery.
I am seeing the surgeon later today, please can I ask what is the quickest you have got your results for these types of scans back and if anything was found did they still go ahead with surgery.
With getting the diagnoses, possible surgery or not and throw in Christmas it all feels very stressful, sending love and healing hugs to you all xxx
Hello, I’m sorry to read that you are in this situation. My bone scan took three weeks, but before then it was decided to go through with the radiotherapy as they were near to 100% sure that what had showed up on the MRI was benign (it turned out that it was) and so they didn’t need to know in advance.
If surgery is dependent upon your scan results, I am guessing that the surgeon will request that they are fast tracked to your treatment team. You could ask the surgeon that today. I hope you will get more info at your appointment. A big hug to you. Xx
Dear Cloudier, thank you so much for your message. My results have come through early and thankfully it has not spread so all set for surgery on the 20th December. Sending lots of love and healing hugs xxx
