Hi. Thought I'd share my experience in case it might help others.
I was diagnosed 3 years ago and after 10 months of treatment (wide excision, chemo, cavity shave, radio) I was offered abemaciclib.
My white cells dropped after the first month so I went from 150mg to 100mg. I had a few mild bowel effects for the first 3 to 4 months mainly urgency but it settled and all was fine till 18mths later when i got awful headaches. I had a break of 3 weeks and went on to 50mg and the headaches resolved. (I've known finished the 2 yrs).
I had anastrozole initially and had a few joint pains for a couple of months which then settled. After 2 years the joint pains flared up. I couldn't sleep with the pain in my hands and could hardly write with the pain in my wrist. I had a 5 week break and went on to examestane. Amazing. My joint pains have gone and I feel fab.
3 years on my recent mammogram was fine.
Hopefully all will be well now. I wish you all well. Keep on with the treatments its a slog but you will get there. Adjustments can help if you are struggling.
All the best xx
