Letrozole and vitamin D

Morning Dulciana, I too take letrozole and also prescribed vit D which I don't pay for. Talk to your GP for advice x

I take Adcal D3. Your GP can prescribe along with your letrozole. If you pay for prescriptions look at getting a ppe prescription prepayment certificate or get GP to give you a 6 month supply. I am old enough that I get free prescriptions. But worth taking x

Thanks Rozalia.  I'll give my GP a call in the morning.  (Rather fortunately, prescriptions are free here in Scotland.) 

You should have baseline bloods and dexa scan as well.  Annual checkups for bloods, I am on 3 year check for dexa.

I had bloods to check for calcium and vit d levels before I started the letrozole

both were fine but I take a combo vit d calcium daily anyway, only supplement anyone has said it’s a must to take 

Hmm.  I had none of these things when I began letrozole.  Good to know, and I think this calls for action.   Thanks everybody for your helpful replies.

I had bloods tested twice, after first one was told 'liver bloods were high', oncologist thought it may be due to letrozole. Had more blood tests done 3 months later but heard nothing so assume all ok. It's best to ask when you have to have bloods tested x

Also was told it was nothing yo worry about x
