Hi. Little back story, I had my first lumpectomy back at the end of Dec'23 and then had to have a further surgery beginning of Feb'24 as margins weren't clear. I've had 6 rounds of chemo and have now started radiotherapy. I'm having 10 sessions of radiotherapy, 5 sessions general to the breast and then 5 boost sessions. I had my 2nd session on Friday and have noticed since then that the area where my tumour was (the tumour was very large and clearly visible through the skin so I know exactly where it was) is now very tender. I know the radiotherapy will mess around with things but is this something others have experienced or is it something I should contact the breast care nurse about. I don't want to waste anyone's time if it's 'normal'. Thanks for any advice x
Hi, I was told to moisturise frequently to help with this and was recommended Aveeno, so that might help if you're not already doing that. I'd also suggest to mention this at your next session. Best wishes
Hi Vicman Flamigel RT is fantastic. Where I had Radiotherapy they gave me a tube and insisted that I put it on before every session. And it really works . I only had 5 sessions but I didn’t get any burns a little tender but that was it. They still it on Amazon.
Hope the rest of your treatment goes well.
xx
Thanks for responding. I'm using Aveeno twice a day so will keep on with this. I have a review on Wednesday so will mention it then. Thanks
