Hi there

I have had surgery to remove the breast cancer 5 weeks ago and I am recovering well from op . I had pathology results last week and was told I had a rare invasive papillary carcinoma not an IDC as thought . I have clear margins and the cancer is oestrogen and progesterone positive with one lymph node involved . The plan for treatment is still radiotherapy and hormone therapy but now there is a question mark over chemo . The oncologist has requested a Ki-67 test to decide if chemo would benefit . It was also Her 2 negative . I am so terrified of chemo . I have also heard that the ki-67 is controversial. Does anyone else had this diagnosis or experiencing a similar situation? Would love to hear from you . I am not seeing the oncologist fir another 2 weeks .. thank you

  • Hi Bella

I was diagnosed with oestrogen and progesterone positive breast cancer with one lymph node involved last year and had chemo as well as radiotherapy and I am now hormone therapy for five years.  I didn't find the chemo too bad, though I won't say it was easy, it was doable.

Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.

    Best wishes

  • Hi Daisy

thanks for replying . Glad you are through all that and good to hear it’s doable . Do you know why Chemo was part of the treatment plan ? Were you given a choice ? Wishing you well in your recovery xx

  • Hi Bella05

Thanks. Chemo was part of the treatment because of the node involvement. xx
