Hi All

I started my first EC chemo on 12th January and am due my 2nd cycle on 26th. I decided to cold cap but I have suffered from a migraine try headache for about a week. I spoke to my oncologist and he said it wasn’t related to either chemo or cold cap but I find this hard to believe as never really suffered from this type of headache.

What was everyone else experience. Where these headaches ‘normal’ wit or without cold cap. I plan to cold cap again but if others are experiences these headaches I might just give up

Thanks all xx

i was due my next chemo today but it’s been cancelled as spent yesterday in hospital as I’ve got covid. Let me know how it goes today - good luck xx

  • Oh no Cry that’s awful, I hope you feel better soon.

    i will thank you xx

  • Hi Lesbot,

just wanted to check in and see how you’re feeling now?

I had my second round of chemo on Friday, took 2 paracetamol an hour before I went. The whole process didn’t feel as bad as the 1st round, but for me it’s just that 1 1/2 hours after chemo that we have to have our cap on that I’m struggling with because I feel disoriented and queezy. No headaches so far, but they didn’t start until the Tuesday night after the last chemo (which was on the Friday). Will keep you posted, I’m praying I won’t get them, I’m  trying to stay hydrated and resting a lot as I do feel exhausted xx

  • Hi Lesbot

i hope you are ok, so today the bad head was back spent most of the day in bed Cry don’t think I’ll cold cap next time x

  • I meant yesterday the headache came back, seems okay this morning x

  • Hi Dizzy1

Sorry been feeling pretty rubbish so not been on for a few days.
How are you feeling now? Are you feeling any better?
Really sorry about the headaches that’s just so rubbish along with everything else. Really hope you are starting to feel better xx

  • Hey,

headache has gone thankfully. How are you doing? X

  • Hiya. So glad to hear the headaches have gone. Were they as bad as last time?

My 2nd chemo was delayed until today but I’m still testing positive so delayed until next Friday. Will be good to be back on track but it should have been my 3rd next Friday so has got me down a little x

  • Hi  and

I’m wide awake at 3.30 am searching for information and stumbled across your chat. I had my first EC cycle a week ago. The day after I started with a severe migraine which lasted 5 days. It’s finally improving with the help of sumatriptan but not gone completely. I did use the cold cap so I’ve no idea whether it’s that or the chemo that has triggered it. I am a migraine sufferer but this has been extreme and long lasting. I wondered what the rest of your treatment has been like. My BCN doesn’t think I should cold cap again and although I think that’s the sensible thing I’d be gutted if I didn’t and then still got the migraines again anyway. Hope you are doing well xx

  • Hi Flora74,

I managed the cold cap for just 2 cycles as the migraines were awful. After I stopped using it they stopped. I had lost a lot of my hair by then anyway. I was told if I normally suffer from migraines then I shouldn’t use it but before all this I never had one.
I had 3 cycles of EC and 3 cycles of Docetaxel, I have my last round of the docetaxel next Wednesday.

Hope this helped, sending you lots of hugs, good luck with your treatment

    xx
