Hi,
I had a bad allergic reaction to my second Filgrastim injection yesterday and had to be rushed to A&E. I've now been told to not take it and I'll have to be extra vigilant regarding infections and temperature. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, the pain bone in general has been excruciating and several other very strong side effects. I'm going to speak to my oncologist but there's no way I can endure another 5 sessions at this pain level. Can they reduce the dose? In my case it's post surgery chemo and also so I can have the Herceptin. No lymph node involvement etc. I'm trying not to be a wuss about it but honestly, there's got to be an argument for quality of life now. I nearly bloody died yesterday because of one of the drugs! Sorry, just feeling rubbish and in need of a rant! X
Hi Moomin48
Sorry to hear that you had a bad allergic reaction to your second Filgrastim injection. Your oncologist will more than likely reduce the chemo dose as you've been having several strong side effects. They certainly don't want you to feel so unwell that it's affecting your quality of life. No need to apologise for needing a rant. That's what this forum is for as well as giving support when you need it.
Wishing you the best of luck with the rest of your treatment.
Best wishes
