Hello. I’m a 54 year old woman
I recently found out I have DCIS. I will need a mastectomy possibly double. I’m awaiting more results and more tests to be done
The waiting for a plan of action is hard
on my MRI scan my liver showed there to be small marks .!!!! This scared me they think it may just be cysts. I will probably need more scans. I was just wondering if anyone else had cysts show up on the liver while dealing with breast cancer ? Thank you.
Hi Nikanna
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with DCIS. I had cysts show up on my liver when I had a CT Scan after being diagnosed with breast cancer nearly 3 years ago. I had another CT Scan recently after being diagnosed with breast cancer a second time and there was no mention of cysts on my liver this time.
Wishing you the best of luck with your results and whatever tests your medical team do.
Best wishes

Hello Nikanna, sorry to hear that you are dealing with DCIS. One thing is DCIS is stage 0 and cannot spread outside the breast as it is in the ducts. Did they mention mastectomy because the DCIS is large area?
It is very scary dealing with all of it. I had DCIS in right breast and stage 1 in the left. I am small breasted too but had 2 lumpectomies and radiation to both breasts and now on hormone blocker Anastrazole for 5 years as ER positive.
Take care and wishing you the best.

Thank you Barbara. Yes the DCIS is in a large area in the left and having tests on something small in my right at the moment. I hope you are doing well now. Thank you for your text
best wishes Nikki
Thank you Barb. I’m awaiting more biopsy results lbut so far its DCIS very spread In the left Thanks for your help
Oh yes Nikanna doing well now. Nice to be done with everything except the Anastrazole which I am not a big fan but hanging in there. On year 2 and have to be in it for 5 years. Hope your right breast is ok. My tumor was found on MRI on left breast as it was small 3mm tumor and 6mm DCIS. That DCIS can be extensive sometimes but at least it is not invasive. Take care and hope all goes well for you.
