Hi

has anyone got any advice/reassurance with a her2+ diagnosis please? Blush

  • Hi Eli35, I just replied under your other post. Sorry to hear you are HER2 positive. I’m still having Phesgo, a targeted treatment for HER2. For me I have an injection every 3 weeks for a year. It’s a little stingy at the start but I just put my hand over it and the warmth from that helps and the sting disappears. Other than that I do t have any side effects only from the pre meds as I had a reaction to the first one.
I put a little more detail in the other post for you.

    Wishing you all the best

  • Hi, I have been diagnosed with Grade 3 invasive ductual breast cancer oestrogen positive and HER 2 positive, stage 2b, my treatment plan is ec-t chemotherapy for 6 cycles and when I'm on 2nd half of cycle will have phesgo injections for 18 cycles, will have surgery and radiotherapy, only had my 1st cycle of chemo a week tomorrow x

  • Hi

sending all my best wishes for your treatment & surgery Pray tone1 I’m trying to decide which treatment plan to go with at the moment, but recovered well from surgery. It’s good to start the practical steps on the way to recovery xx

  • Hi   my story is on my profile feel free to read my treatment path .

    I was diagnosed DCIs grade 3 Her 2+ in 2019 .
If you read profile you will see MX, chemo ,Herceptin then bisphosphonate finishing December 2022

Regards Herceptin I found that it was very little problem , compared to chemo it was a doddle lol Joy mild flu like SE for a couple of days plus some fatigue .
It is a slow injection and can be painful my team would give me the phial to rub between hands to warm it up after the fridge this reduces some of pain also rub thigh to warm the area up. If it still hurts tell them if they slow down it helps

I was told the risk of recurrence was  reduced by a good margin with Herceptin so worth having  . Hopefully clear results from last weeks mammogram means I’ll be 4yr Neddy

One step at a time and ...Breathe !

  • Hi Margaret

  • HI
My diagnosis was left breast 13mm grade 2 IDC plus 4mm intermediate grad DCIS. ER 8/8, PR8/8, HER2 3+. Negative sentinel lymph node status. Margins all clear at surgery. You can read my profile.

My oncologist said with the targeted Trastuzamab 3 weekly injections (in addition to the chemo/radiotherapy) it gives me a very good prognosis along with Letrozole tablets for 5 years which would also reduce chance of any recurrence by 50%. So for me that and the tabets are important and good news.

All the best with your treatment. x
