Hi can anyone advise how to chat with HER2+ patients? Thank you Pray tone1

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

To 'chat' to other people who've had an HER2+ diagnosis you just need to start a new post with your questions, etc. I can see that you've already done this with your second post and hopefully others with the same diagnosis as you will be along shortly.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi Eli35, I was diagnosed with triple positive idc. Having HER2 positive meant I needed chemo along with target treatment Phesgo. I had my surgery first and then had to have a second surgery to remove all my axillary lymph nodes. I then had 8 cycles of chemo with the last 4 that included Phesgo. I need 18 Phesgo injections over the next year. I have one every 3 weeks. As I had a reaction to the first one, I have to have piriton and hydrocortisone which makes me sleepy. The jab itself takes about 5mins. It’s a little stingy to start with but I hold my hand over it and I think the warmth from that helps as it soon disappears. Other than that I have no side effects. If I didn’t have to have the pre meds I would go on to work after. My oncologist will put me on another drug for a year when I have finished this to get the best possible chance of not getting a reoccurrence.
If you click on my name you can read about my journey. Maybe if you get a chance you could pop something in your biography too.
    Wishing you all the best.
