Hi,

I have been on zoladex since september 2022 and started on letrozole March 2023.  Now stopped zoladex and letrozole has switched to tamoxifen a few weeks ago.  I am 35 so pre menopausal.  Ever since starting the letrozole and still now on the tamoxifen I often feel really sad and tearful with no obvious trigger.  Or I will feel panicky and a dread sort of feeling and feel like I get sensory overload in busy environments and can't think straight much of the time.  Do the symptoms get milder or is this kind of how things are now?

  • Maybe look on the cancer active.com and progesterone link.com too. I also had acupuncture for hot flushes which was really helpful. I found a herbal supplement to help with my brain fog on cancer active website. I checked it out carefully to make sure it was ok to take.

  • Apologies I've only just seen his  . I have found the Accord brand works best for me, but I only had around 4 different brands from my pharmacy so some may work better for you. I took notes, and I also took a note of all of their ingredients. I found the ones with fewer ingredients were better

  • Thanks for this info zephyr.  What was the supplement for brain fog?. I would try anything to try and improve that, it's awful. x

  • L-acetyl-carnitine. Its good for neuropathy too.

  • Sorry to hear this, I’ve just changed to venlafexine for moods and to help with hot flashes and although I have bad days it does help.  I’m also on tamoxifen and the Zoladex injection but I’m finding I’m suffering with really bad insomnia.  I’ve read it’s a side effect of Zoladex just wondering has anyone else had this symptom?  Nothing worse than lying there at night and not able to sleep, anyone any suggestions to help?

  • I know what you mean about lieing awake at night.  I find listening to something relaxing, like philosophical podcasts or sleep meditations good for shutting my mind off and helping me drift off.  X
